Semolina Idli / Semola Idli/ Durum Wheat Idli/ Rava Idly




Ingredients

Semolina/Rava - 1 Cup
Yogurt - 1 1/2 cup
Salt for taste
Grated Coconut - 1 ts
Grated Carrot - 10 ts
Green Peas - 2 ts
Chopped Coriander Leaves - 2 ts

Tempering

Butter/Ghee/Oil - 1 ts
Mustard - 1/4 ts
Channa Dhal - 1 ts
Cashew nuts - 1 ts
Raisins - 1 ts
Chopped Pearl Onion - 5 ts
Grated Ginger - 1 ts
Chopped Green chili - 1 ts


Method

1. In a nonstick pan and in low heat, add a drop of Butter/Ghee and roast the Semolina till the nice aroma comes out of it, take the roasted semolina/rava place in a mixing bowl.

2. In the same pan add 1 ts of Butter/Ghee/Oil and temper the items given in the list as per the order for a min (or till the onions are soft and turns translucent)and switch off the gas.

3. Now in the roasted semolina/rava mix the tempered items and add the grated carrot,grated coconut, peas,chopped coriander leaves and yogurt, adjust the seasoning.Let the marination sit for 20mins.

4. In a Idli Plate apply a drop of ghee and place 2 ts of this semolina mixture and boil for 10 mins or till the Idli is fully done.

5. Take the Idli out and serve with spicy kara chutney/tomato chutney/coconut chutney/Tiffen Sambar.
